Children Learning Reading Review

Jim and Elena are parents to three children.  They have taught two of their children (their third child is still a baby) to read.  Jim has researched a lot of information on how to teach children how to read.  With all the information he has found out, he put together his own reading program in which both his children have learned to read before the age of 3!

I learned a lot of new ways on how to teach Butterfly to read when I read his program. Butterfly is just starting to learn to read and I loved the reminders in this program on how to properly teach phonemic awareness.

He shows research study results stating that teaching whole language methods may cause a child struggle in learning to read.

"Teaching phonics and phonemic awareness produces better reading results than whole language programs. Teaching phonemic awareness improves a child's reading, reading comprehension, and spelling abilities."

Here is their daughter at age 3 reading, in this video:

Here is their son reading before the age 3:

There are short 5-10 minute lessons that you do everyday, along with regular daily reading to your child as usual.

There is so much good information in Stage 1.  It teaches a lot about Phonemic Awareness, the Importance of Blending, How to Practice, Synthetic Phonics, Sight Words, Letter Names and Letter Sounds, Teaching Capital and Lowercase Letters, Reading Left to Right, suggestions on a Reading Routine.  This section includes 28 lessons.  Easy to read through and apply.

Stage 2 has 22 Lessons with new words and sounds in each.  It teaches Digraphs, Decoding and Word Recognition, Sentence and Short Story reading, along with Rhymes.

The program comes with lots of recordings of how to properly pronounce letter sounds.  You'll be able to hear and learn how to introduce them to your child.

It also comes with stories and rhymes that match each lesson.  The new sounds that the child is learning in the lesson can be found in the coordinating short stories.  Plus lots of printables for word cards when working on each sound and word.

The creator, Jim, says for the six books and mp3 audio files included in the program, you will receive lifetime updates for free!  Jim loves to continue to research about how to teach children to read, they have a third baby that they will be teaching to read in the near future, so as he finds more information and more ways to improve this system, you will always be on board to get that information for free  as part of being an owner to this program.
Jim and Elena also give 12 weeks of free private counseling advice and guidance through email.  Anytime you need help they will be there to answer your questions and guide you through.

The 6 e-books and mp3 audio clips - the Children Learning Reading program will only cost $49.95! That's it! A small investment in your child today spread out over a 12 week period.
Honestly, in my opinion, that's a pretty good price for everything you get, and all the research and time that went into it.  After I read the program, I felt more confident on how to teach Butterfly to read, it's given me more ideas and methods to work on that I will incorporate with her BOB Books as well.

I am thankful that I received this program to review, I have more lesson ideas when teaching reading in our homeschool.  I only recommend things when I believe in the product, I like this program's information and lessons that I became one of their affiliates!  If you are interested in reading and receiving everything The Children Learning Reading has to offer for one small price, CLICK HERE to purchase it through Rockabye Butterfly!
