Valentine's Day Activities

Check out the Valentine's activities Butterfly has been up to!

Colouring with her homemade heart crayons. ( Click here to see how we made them!)

An addition sheet using heart counters.

We used some red and pink Crayola Model Magic Clay, which is a nice a lightweight air-drying modeling compound that is mess-free, to make some Valentine shapes and figures.

Butterfly used a  red Bingo Dabber to dab on the right amount of red circles to match the number on the page.

We even did 50!

Butterfly then wanted to cover a whole heart with the bingo dabber.

We love reading books!  Here's our Valentine love books that we have been enjoying.
Guess How Much I Love You
Franklin's Valentines
Richard Scarry's Things to Love
Love You Forever
Valentine Mice
Clifford's Puppy Love

I set up a heart bead necklace tray.

Butterfly loves making jewellery! Great for fine motor practise.

I made another fine motor tray for transferring.

Butterfly has the use of the tongs down pat now, transferring all the different kinds of hearts from one valentine pail to another.

With this tray, Butterfly had to fill each heart container with one big jewel heart and one small jewel heart, closing them up with their lid.

In this tray activity, Butterfly had to separate the love coins in the jar to give each heart container the same amount, using all the coins.

She used the one by one method, and found that she had enough for each container to hold 6 coins.

All the heart containers had the same amount and she used all the coins!

I gave her a craft tray with felt heart stickers, to make some love valentine art.

We had fun with this heart game.  Hide a coin in one of the hearts, move them all around and when you stop your opponent has to guess which heart is holding the love coin!  I love this because it really makes Butterfly concentrate!

She did a few games for me too!  Check out our Twitter account and you will see a couple of videos posted of us playing this game using the new app Vine!

Butterfly also enjoyed a Valentine Muffin Tin Lunch!

I was just wondering if you were going to continue with the Bob Book worksheets. I am working through the books with my four year old and he is loving your worksheets so far.
