Homemade Gifts - Waldorf style!

It's evident that we love Waldorf learning from our past posts! Recently we attended a big family birthday party and Butterfly and I decided to hand make the gifts for the birthday girl and boy in our family.  We decided on some Waldorf handwork projects.

I made three little gnomes out of wooden pegs and wool felt.  I sewed together a little leaf pouch for them snuggle in.

I felted a cardinal and finch bird, we put a beaded string through them so that Granny could hang her favourite birds up!

Butterfly painted a wooden bird house (a dollar store find!) to go with the bird gift.

We use some of our beeswax sheets to make cookie cutter candles!

We cut out 10 shapes with a cookie cutter, pressed five together and another five together and then placed a wick in between and pressed the whole lot together to make a new type of candle!

We made a heart candle and a tree candle.

I think these would make great handmade Christmas gifts!

Butterfly rolled a candle over a wick using two colours.

She decorated the candle by cutting bits of the sheets and sticking them on, just with the heat of her hand the wax sticks together.  She also got creative and made two Christmas trees and a "windmill" to go with her gifts :)

And we couldn't resist making another Waldorf star,  for the birthday boy's bedroom window!

Handmade gifts mean so much more, we think :)
