Spring Muffin Tin and Walking The Line

It's Spring now where we are, the weather is so warm and sunny, the snow has all melted in our yard.  I am so glad this weather came early and quick, and I hope it's here to stay.  We spent our weekend playing outside with neighbourhood friends and Spring Cleaning inside and outside of the house!

So today, I made Butterfly a Spring flowered muffin tin lunch!

I packed the tin with Potato Salad, Strawberries, Cheese curds, Honeydew melon, Pumpernickel bread dipped in Spinach dip, Pineapples, and a glass of milk.

Lots of fresh summery fruits and foods!
I even added a purple carnation flower from my vase by her lunch!

Here's a cool gross motor activity I had pinned on my Pinterest.

I took a long piece of yarn and put it in a V on the carpet,

Butterfly started at the point, with her feet closer together, a foot on each side, she followed it down, noticing her feet getting farther apart.

And then walked the same way back, following the lines and finding her stride getting narrower.

Then she tried it on all fours, hands on one side and feet on the other side, moving up and down the lines, shuffling along, stretching out more.

With this gross motor activity, concepts of wide and narrow were reinforced, eye hand coordination, following and staying on lines, learning about distance and point, and great moving activity!

  1. Ooh, I love the line walking activity! I think my girls would have a lot of fun with that!

  2. Your lunch looks so bright and sunny! Great tin!

  3. This meal is blooming with wonderful foods.
