Letter R Workboxes

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  Hello 2012!!

We've had a fabulous and busy holiday!  I think I need a vacation from the vacation :)  And now I'm ready to get back to school schedule, and so is Butterfly!  She was craving her workboxes this week!  I love that she loves her work!

These are our  Workboxes for this week!  Letter R and Number 18 work.
To get the links and resources and to see the work in action, visit our Letter R week from last year HERE!

Also, check out the books we read for Letter R week!

Review cards, Sandpaper Tactile Letters for finger tracing, R sound with LeapFrog Fridge Magnets, practice writing R, r and 18 in the salt box.  Using R and 18 alphabet wipe-off cards and number wipe-off cards.

Alphie the robot learning R and 18, driving on Road R, and a laminated R sheet using Play-Doh to shape the letters on the sheet.

Sorting upper case and lower case R's, and using the Letter Builders to build a capital and lower case R.

Bingo Dabbing R, and using a Giant Push Pin on the carpet poking holes along the letter lines of the printed Rr sheet.  We'll also be using the numbered Rainbow cards, matching the number of dots in one cloud to the written number in the other cloud to form complete rainbows.

Spelling rainbow in upper and lower case with the letter tiles, and a Rainbow Puzzle to solve.

A colour by number rainbow sheet, and cut and glue patterns sheet.

Fill in the rainbow sheet with the magnetic pom poms on a metal baking pan- great for one to one correspondence.  And sorting the rainbow cards by size from biggest to smallest.

A rainbow graphing booklet- counting the rainbows on each page and graphing them.  Butterfly got some beautiful rainbow stickers from a friend at Christmas, so we'll use some of those sheets in the graphing booklet.  Also, a laminated numbers practise booklet using wipe-off markers, and a Number 18 Worksheet.

Clipboard writing practice with a Pencil Grip for proper finger positioning.

Letter R Scavenger Hunt- finding items around the house that start with R, two rainbow colouring sheets with more new rainbow stickers to decorate with!  And letter matching rainbow cards- finding the upper and lower case pair to make complete rainbows.

Rainbows are Butterfly's and I's favourite so these will be fun and colourful workboxes to use this week!!
