Letter K Workboxes

These are our  Workboxes for this week!  Letter K and Number 11 work.
To get the links and resources and to see the work in action, visit our Letter K week from last year HERE

Also, check out the books we read for Letter K week!

Review cards, Sandpaper Tactile Letters for finger tracing, K sound with LeapFrog Fridge Magnets, practice writing K, k and 11 in the salt box.  Using K and 11 alphabet wipe-off cards and number wipe-off cards.

Alphie the robot learning K and 11, using the Letter Builders to build K and k, and driving on Road K.

Push Pin poking on the carpet- poking holes on the lines of K, writing a large K on a wipe-off sheet, and Counting with Kites- putting the right number of mini clothespins on each string that match the number on the kite, and matching the little number kite cards to the right numbered kite.

Writing Practice booklet with wipe-off markers, a Kite Puzzle, and sorting the kite sizes in order.

Bingo Dabbing K, a cutting practice sheet, and a pattern worksheet- Butterfly has now mastered patterns- she's doing great with them, so different from her preschool year last year- it shows that last year she wasn't ready for patterns and this year it's more age appropriate so she can understand them now!

This drawer has some different activities to freshen it up!  Last year I had made the laminated kite sheet- follow the strings from a kite to which animal it belongs to and write the number of the kite in the animal's yellow box.  Also, a coin counter- I took an empty icing jar and cut a slot into the plastic lid, we saved up the metal ends from the frozen juice cans and decorated them with stickers- drop "coins" into the jar as we count them!  And our wooden ball sorter, the greater amount of one colour goes on the longer peg and the least amount of a colour goes on the shorter peg, when finished it looks like this below:

Spelling kite in upper and lower case with the letter tiles, and putting magnetic pom poms on each circle of the K is for kite sheet on a metal baking pan.

Clipboard writing practice with a Pencil Grip, here are all the sheets in the clipboard this week:

Numbers wipe-off printing practise, and Kite Building activity- using the little kites to replicate the same design shown on the sheet.

Kite colouring sheet and the K Scavenger Hunt.
