Fall Lapbook

We've been working on our Fall Lapbook!

On the front cover, Butterfly cut out the leaves and glued them to the tree to decorate the front of the Lapbook.

I used quite a few long file folders and just hole punched them all in the same spot and used green yarn to tie them together in a book.

And the back of the folder book.

This Lapbook includes a Fall theme, Leaves, Pumpkins, Spiders, and Costumes.

Here are the two great sites where I got all these fun activities from:

Nature Leaf Walk!

Butterfly and I went on a Fall nature walk last week and found lots of great coloured leaves that had fallen on the ground!

We then gathered some supplies, and worked out on the front porch with our new Fall treasures.

We did some leaf rubbing.  Placing a leaf underneath the paper and rubbing a crayon over top, the leaf print then shows through.  The Melissa & Doug Triangular Crayons work great for rubbing on it's flat side.

Then Butterfly wanted to glue her leaves down on her paper.

We also made a Fall page in her Nature Journal to keep our finds.

Most enjoyable time for Butterfly:  During the walk when she "crunched crunched" through the leaves!

Muffin Tin Monday!

Butterfly had a friend come over this weekend, so I made the girls a snack tin!

Fried potatoe slices, cucumbers and crackers, and grapes.
Each girl had a side of the tin.

They shared, they ate, they chatted, and dressed as princesses of course!

A muffin tin snack during a playdate!

Pumpkin Patch!

Recently we visited the Pumpkin Patch to pick a pumpkin!

We talked about the different stages of a pumpkin, how they are green at first before growing into a full size orange pumpkin,

and we examined the vines that pumpkins grow on.

Butterfly then explored The Life Cycle of a Pumpkin file folder game at home.

We purchased some mini white pumpkins from the patch, which made a great clean white surface for decorating!

So I prepared an Art Caddy for Butterfly full of glitter pens, stickers, pipe cleaners, and Sharpie markers.

This kept Butterfly busy all afternoon, going back and forth to the porch to get the next plain pumpkin to glam it up with her creativity!

And now we have an even prettier Fall porch!

Here are the Pumpkin Books we have been enjoying:
