We All Scream For Ice Cream!

We just went through our Ice Cream unit in flash, Butterfly loved this topic of course!

Here is our Lapbook:

Our recipe for making our own ice cream.

 Inside the lapbook.

The back of the lapbook, Butterfly cut the square pictures apart and glued them on either hot or cold.

Additional worksheets.

Here are the Printable Resources I used for our Ice cream Unit:

Butterfly worked on Hot or Cold from File Folder Fun, by sorting the cards.

Then we made our own ice cream with these supplies.

Small bag inside larger bag, then...

 ... shake shake shake!!

I can see how this works, ours came out runny, I think we needed to shake it more than we did to keep solidifying it.  Butterfly enjoyed it anyways!

We played our new game, We All Scream For Ice Cream.

You spin the spinner with your foot and either add scoops or drop scoops.  You really have to keep the cone balanced to keep the scoops steady!

  Daddy had great balancing skills!

We brought Butterfly to an Icecream Festival, and we watched a demonstration on how they made icecream in the olden days with a wooden crank barrel.

And there were a couple of occasions this month where we brought Butterfly out for ice cream of course!  :)

This was definitely a fun unit for Summertime in August!

  1. Add much more ice to the big Ziplock -- it really does work!

  2. how fun (thanks for the links!) & a perfect way to end it! I have been meaning to make some homemade ice cream with my girls. looks like you had a great week/unit!

Want to invite you to share on my weekly child centered linky party (open Sat night thru Thurs.) The Sunday Showcase -

  3. More ice, okay thanks Tanya! We'll probably be trying it again.

I linked up to Sunday Showcase Mom to 2!
