Summer Memories

Well Summer is coming to an end, yes the dreaded words.  Where I am in Canada, our evenings and early mornings now are starting to have a chill in them, and kids are getting ready to go back to school.

I wanted to make a post of some of our fun Summer memories that Butterfly and I and her Daddy have had this year!

We enjoyed:

Cooking classes (enjoyed them so much that we are continuing through our Fall!), then coming home inspired to create more like these chocolate strawberries and chocolate bananas on a stick that Butterfly made!

Loving her cousin's kitty!

Feeding the ducks at the pond.

We have had lots of beach fun this year!

Here, Butterfly was making a path for the fairies to get to their sand castle :)

Watching the waves.

Visiting a Grapevine for the first time,

learning how grapes grow!

And falling in love with another kitty on the way!

Learning about lizards and tarantulas at her Uncle's house!

That would be a cricket (aka dinner!), sitting right on top of that lizard's head! Can you picture his next move?

Yup, she's right up there close to that hairy giant spider with the cage door wide open!!

We went on a Paddle-boating adventure!

 We watched Sea Planes.

 Enjoyed a Sunflower field!

Visited more animals at a farm.

Butterfly has such a love for animals.

 Backyard pooling!

Lots of art creations and easel activities.

Butterfly's art puts a smile on my face!  This is me by the way, hehe!

Sidewalk chalk, making a river on the driveway (too bad it rained that night, I wanted to pretend to jump the river to get in the car!).

Roasting marshmallows the first time.

Going for a pony ride!

Admiring the horses at the horse show;  this one was our favourite, her name is Patience.

And of course always creating new activities.  In this one, Butterfly cut up coloured straws, and then used them as beads that she strung into a necklace!

And Mommy getting ready for our new school year!  New maps up on the wall beside our books.  Running out of room in the school room, so we had to use the hallway for our new maps. - The life of a homeschooler! - You could be learning Geography as you head to your bedroom! hehe

The School Room all organized for a new year!

Even though our learning and Lapbooking units did not stop through the Summer, this Monday we are officially starting our new School year routine!  We are going to work on Confession's awesome Letter of the Week program again this year to really solidify those letters and numbers- knowing them and writing them.  Plus, a whole bunch more added activities in between that I have prepared!  We even have many fun classes we've signed up for this Fall- Cooking, Gymnastics, Science, Storytime, a Homeschoolers group.  To balance out the outings and the at-home work, I've made a daily schedule that should help us stay on track!  The workboxes for this Monday are all set and ready to go! Back to Letter A!  Butterfly is very excited for all the new fun scheduled for her!
