Rainy Day? No problemo!

This afternoon I had scheduled one of our "CMAPs" - Crazy Messy Art Projects (outdoors!) for our Summer August, but the afternoon turned overcast and then rainy!!
No problem, let's still do it!

First we need an easel...

...and a tray full of loaded paint jars and all sorts of painting tools!  This was going to be about making all sorts of different painting designs in different ways.  Brushes, rollers, sponges, pool noodle, kitchen brushes-- anything to make scratches, swipes, dabs, rolls, ect.  Experimental Painting!

Let child go nuts... on the kitchen floor, not the carpet :)

And of course we all know Butterfly, every messy art project ends up using the hands!  She has to get the hands in there! :)

Nail scrapes, lovely for bath time...

Bathtime? Nah, the backyard pool is still set up!
Butterfly asks to go swimming in the rain!!  Of course!!
Nothing beats a summertime childhood memory!

  1. LOL it always makes me laugh when kids get the hands right in there when we think they are going to use all the great tools we provide for them! Looks like she had a great time!

  2. Great fun! I love Miss Butterfly's artwork and her HAIR! I wish my sweet girl's hair would GROW! :)

We often wash off in the swimming pool when we've finished a messy project. WAY less to clean up.
