April Showers Brings May Flowers!

It's been Letter U and Letter V week here for Butterfly.

We've been learning that Umbrella starts with Letter U and Vase starts with Letter V.

Put those two objects together and we can make an "April Showers Brings May Flowers" craft!

First we made an umbrella, out of foam, with ribbon and foam raindrops falling down.  Butterfly noticed the U-shape in the umbrella's handle :)

Butterfly decorated her umbrella with all sorts of sticky foam shapes.

Next, we got our materials to make a vase (to hold May's flowers!)

This is my first time introducing a "decoupage" craft activity to Butterfly.  We have cut up square tissue paper and watered down glue (half and half to help it spread).

I held the recycled container on my hand for Butterfly as she applied tissue squares and glued under and over them.

The final result!

Let it dry, and add some flowers.

April Showers brings May Flowers!  A crafty way to incorporate Letter U and Letter V ("umbrella" and "vase"), while becoming aware of our season/ month/ weather changes!
