A Fruity Muffin Tin

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

This past weekend was a busy one, I hosted a CPR refresher's course in my home with some of my neighbour friends and then I attended a baby shower for my good friend, so there was some food prep to do for the parties.

Butterfly saw my tray of fruits and yogurt dip and she wanted some, I had to tell her it was for the baby shower party (which was for mommies only!) so I decided to do a muffin tin for her this weekend that had her own fruit and yogurt dip so she didn't feel left out!  I added some princess picks because she was dressed as a princess with clothes from her dress up box.  :)  She loved her tin!!

Outrageous "O"!

Here's our week on Letter O and Number 15!

LeapFrog Fridge Magnets and flash cards to review our new letter and number.

Placing the next letter and number on our Review Charts to see it's place in numeric/alphabetic order.

Sandpaper Tactile Letters to finger trace, a Montessori pre-writing skill.

Making O's in the Paint Bag.

Making O's in the Salt Box.

Alphie the Robot teaching us Letter O and Number 15.

 Tracing/ Driving a car on Road O.

Peg Board and coloured elastic bands, making an O.

Next pages in our Craft Alphabet book, O is for Owl and o is for ostrich.

Forming O's using the coloured icecubes, staying inside the lines.

Using my Laminator, with the adhesive-laminating cartridge I made our own stickers!  Just printed out owl and octupus clip arts!

Butterfly sorted, putting the owls on the lower case and the octopuses on the upper case.

Using our newly-made letters, spelling Octopus in capitals and lower case.  (I love that the foam backing is like a non-slip surface on the shiney laminate paper!)

Cutting Practice

 Sorting Octopus sizes

 Octopus puzzle

Butterfly LOVES stickers!  I found Olivia Owl's Sticker Book!

I found out that the IKEA wipe-off markers work best on the Xyron Laminator's sheets, they don't bead off like the Expos were doing.

 Hand-writing clipboard practice.

Laminated Octopus Numbers Practice booklet.  (These are the IKEA wipe-off markers.)

Counting octupuses, all printed on cardstock and laminated.

Then cutting and gluing to make 15!

Maze practice, making lines within the paths, is a great pre-writing skill.

 Patterns, cutting and gluing.

Nature Book entry, check out Butterfly's drawing of an octopus :)  Her drawings make me happy! :)

Scavenger Hunt- filling your box with things that start with O from around the house.
Butterfly and her Daddy found oranges, olives, owls, an orangutan, octopus card, and an opera CD.

We then watched the story called "Owl Babies" on Youtube. Which is a book by Martin Waddell.  Very cute story about baby owls waiting for their Mommy.

The Octopus Letter O printables are from the Letter of the Week curriculum from Confession's of a Homeschooler.
